Editor's Note: With the 2016 Olympic Summer Games beginning in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, we take a look back at this 2013 Q&A with swimming coach Bob Bowman, this year's coach of the U.S. Olympic swim team and the longtime coach of the most decorated athlete in Olympic history, Michael Phelps. Bob Bowman is best known as the coach of champion swimmer Michael Phelps, who set a record for the most gold medals in the Olympics among many other accomplishments, inclduing becoming the most decorated Olympic athlete of all-time. Bowman is an avid fan of horse racing and has entered into several horse racing partnerships. From 2005-2008, he was the head coach for the University of Michigan men's swimming & diving team, served as the CEO/Head Coach for North Baltimore Aquatic Club and has been an assistant coach for the U.S. Olympic swim team for three Olympic Games before taking on the role of head coach for 2016.
