Trademark broke his maiden in his third career start, a 1 1/16-mile maiden special weight race at Churchill Downs on Oct. 31, 2021. He was pressed on the lead while racing towards the inside, and drew away late to win by five lengths. He validated that form with a three-length win in a first-level optional claiming race at Churchill on Nov. 27.

The Upstart gelding targeted the 2022 Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve trail to start his 3-year-old season, finishing 12^th and then fifth twice in prep races that offered qualifying points. He continued to race against stakes competition during the spring and summer with his best finish a fourth in the Grade 3 Indiana Derby.

After a nearly two-month break, Trademark resurfaced at Keeneland in October 2022 and posted an upset win in a tough allowance race. Just over a month later, he picked up his first stakes win in the Commonwealth Turf Stakes on Churchill Downs’ closing day of its November meet, rolling to a four-length score under Martin Garcia. The race was moved from turf to dirt due to rainy weather.

Trademark was back for his 4-year-old season in 2023 and put together a solid second-half of the season. He won a $100,000 stakes race at Horseshoe Indiana at 1 mile & 70 yards on July 8, and followed it up with a runner-up finish by a half a length in the Grade 3 Philip Iselin Stakes at Monmouth Park on Aug. 19. Next, he just missed by a head in a heartbreaker when second in the Grade 2 Lukas Classic Stakes at 1 1/8 miles at Churchill Downs on Sept. 30.

Trademark earned his first career graded stakes victory when he won the Grade 2 $600,0000 Clark Stakes at 1 1/8 miles on the Churchill Downs main track on Nov. 24 when he out-battled favored First Mission in deep stretch to win by a nose. The lead pair was more than five lengths clear of the rest of the field. Trademark paid $28.20 to win.

Trademark sold for $42,000 at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale in 2020. He is owned by BBN Racing and trained by Vicki Oliver.
