Summer Sunday won all three races during her 2-year-old season at Woodbine, including two black-type stakes. The Ontario-bred Silent Name filly only raced twice in 2018, both starts coming in April, and she won another stakes at her home track. In 2019, the Stuart Simon trainee returned in spring to finish sixth in an allowance optional claiming race before taking her fourth stakes race at Woodbine on May 11. That set her up for a breakthrough graded stakes score in the June 9 Grade 3 Hendrie Stakes, which she won by 1 1/2 lengths as the 3-2 favorite.

Summer Sunday next tried a graded stakes on Woodbine’s turf, and her success continued as she rolled to a 1 1/4-length win in the Grade 2 Royal North Stakes on July 22.
The filly is owned by her breeders, William and Anne Scott.
