After a few stakes placings, Serve the King won his first stakes race at Saratoga on Aug. 25, 2021. He won the John's Call Stakes at 1 5/8 miles on the grass by a half-length, after rating just off the early pace.
Serve the King went off at 14-1 in the Grade 1 Joe Hirsch Turf Classic Stakes at Belmont Park on Oct. 9. He outran his odds that day, finishing second after rating in the middle of the pack early on. Serve the King bounced back to win the Grade 2 Red Smith Handicap at Aqueduct on Nov. 20. He got up in the last few strides for an exciting victory.
