Robusta began his racing career as a 2-year-old in 2025 and won his maiden race in his second lifetime start when making his 3-year-old debut going one mile at Santa Anita on Jan. 9, 2026. His subsequent race was a sixth-place finish in the Robert B. Lewis Stakes on Feb. 7.

Robusta tried again against stakes company in her next outing and had much better results, nearly posting a giant upset at 67-1 odds until eventually forced to settle for second in the Grade 2 $200,000 San Felipe Stakes presented by DK Horse going 1 1/16 miles at Santa Anita on March 7. Robusta sat right off the fast pace set by San Felipe favorites So Happy and Brant and then took control in the lane when both of the leaders began to fade. He led until deep stretch until nailed nearing the wire by a head by fast-closing Potente. The San Felipe was a points race on the road to the Kentucky Derby presented by Woodford Reserve, and with his second-place finish Robusta earned 25 qualifying points.
Robusta is trained by Doug O'Neill. He was bred in Kentucky by the sire Accelerate out of the dam Urbane Legend by Into Mischief.
