Pandagate

Pandagate, an Arrogate ridgling bred in New York, won his debut impressively on Oct. 1, 2023, taking a one-mile maiden race for state-breds at the Belmont at the Big A meet by nine lengths. He raced once more as a 2-year-old, finishing third in a 1 1/16-mile allowance optional claiming race at Laurel Park in December.

The gray or roan ridgling returned in the Gander Stakes restricted to New York-breds at Aqueduct on Feb. 25, 2024, and won easily by 5 ½ lengths with Dylan Davis aboard. Trainer Christophe Clement then ambitiously shipped Pandagate to Dubai for the March 30 United Arab Emirates Derby, a qualifying points prep race for the Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve. With Davis riding, Pandagate made up ground in the stretch of the 1 3/16-mile race to finish third and earn 25 Kentucky Derby points.

Pandagate is out of the stakes-placed Sky Mesa mare Kitty Panda, and is from the family of Florida Derby winner and sire Audible.
