Ottinho debuted as a 2-year-old with a third-place finish at Aqueduct on Nov. 23, 2025, and reached the winner’s circle in his second race with a front-running victory by a head in a 1 1/8-mile race at Aqueduct on Dec. 31.
The bay Quality Road colt made his stakes debut back at 1 1/8 miles at Aqueduct in his first start as a 3-year-old on Feb. 6, 2026, in the $200,000 Withers Stakes, a Kentucky Derby qualifying race. He settled off the pace in the Withers, made a belated rally, and finished third when beaten by 11 ½ lengths.

Ottinho made major strides in his next race with a runner-up finish in a seven-horse field in the $1.25 million Toyota Blue Grass Stakes going 1 1/8 miles on April 4 at Keeneland. He earned a spot in the starting gate for the Kentucky Derby based on qualifying points but trainer Chad Brown opted to bypass the race and point Ottinho for the Belmont Stakes instead.
Ottinho was produced by the Grade 2-winning Giant’s Causeway mare Quiet Giant, who also is the dam (mother) of 2017 Horse of the Year and sire Gun Runner.
