Major General

Major General won at first asking at Saratoga, taking a maiden special weight race by a neck on Aug 21. He set the pace under pressure, then held off some late rallies in the stretch for the victory. 

Major General once again showed guts in the Grade 3 Iroquois Stakes at Churchill Downs on Sept. 18. He struck the lead at the top of the stretch, and had to fend off numerous rivals to get the win. With that win, he earned a spot in the Grade 1 TVG Breeders' Cup Juvenile Presented by Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance at Del Mar on Nov. 5.

After several months on the sidelines, Major General returned to the races in the Grade 2 Lambholm South Tampa Bay Derby at Tampa Bay Downs on Mar. 12, 2022. He stumbled at the start and was well-beaten. He bounced back in his next start with a second-place finish in the Grade 3 Stonestreet Lexington Stakes at Keeneland on Apr. 16. That performance earned him eight qualifying points for the Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve, on top of the 10 points he earned for his win in the Iroquois.

Major General sold for $420,000 at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale in 2020. He's a son of Constitution, out of the unraced Uncle Mo mare No Mo Lemons.
