General Banker needed eight races to earn his first career victory, however, he won in style with an 8 ½-length runaway victory in the $500,000 New York Stallion Series Stakes Dec. 17, 2022, at Aqueduct. The Central Banker colt had shown promise in his seven previous races in his 2-year-old campaign, running second on three occasions and finishing fourth in the Funny Cide Stakes Presented by Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital.
General Banker needed eight races to earn his first career victory, however, he won in style with an 8 ½-length runaway victory in the $500,000 New York Stallion Series Stakes Dec. 17, 2022, at Aqueduct. The Central Banker colt had shown promise in his seven previous races in his 2-year-old campaign, running second on three occasions and finishing fourth in the Funny Cide Stakes Presented by Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital.
General Banker opened his 3-year-old season with a third-place finish in the $150,000 Jerome Stakes on the Road to the 2023 Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve when 7 ½ lengths behind winner Lugan Knight. In his second 3-year-old start, General Banker was once again third, this time in the $250,000 Grade 3 Withers Stakes at Aqueduct on Feb. 11. That effort earned General Banker 6 points on the Road to the Kentucky Derby points series.
He followed with a distant third-place finish March 4 at Aqeuduct in the Grade 3 Gotham Stakes to bank another 15 points for a total of 24.
General Banker was produced by the winning Johannesburg mare, Elusive Jozi.
