Forged Steel

Forged Steel won his maiden race in his second career start as a 2-year-old on Aug. 11, 2024, and he later recorded his second lifetime victory in his 3-year-old debut in an allowance optional claiming race at Gulfstream Park on Feb. 9, 2025.

Forged Steel began 2026 in his best career form to date. He won an allowance optional claiming race at Tampa Bay Downs on Feb. 6 and then shipped to Oaklawn Park to secure another allowance optional claiming win on May 2.

Forged Steel was sent out against graded stakes company in his following start in the Grade 2 $200,000 Hollywood Gold Cup Stakes going 1 1/4 miles at Santa Anita on May 25, 2026. Forged Steel absolutely romped atop a field of five runners for a 9 1/2-length victory to become a graded stakes winner for the first time.

Forged Steel was back at Santa Anita yet again for another big stakes win later in 2026 with a victory in the Grade 1 $300,000 Goodwood Stakes going 1 1/8 miles on Sept. 26. Forged Steel pressed a solid pace in a field of nine in the Goodwood and was able to take control midway through the race and coasted home to a 1 1/4-length win. The Goodwood Stakes was a Breeders' Cup Challenge Series "Win and You're In" prep race, and with his victory he earned a guaranteed fees-paid berth into the $7 million Longines Breeders' Cup Classic Oct. 31 at Keeneland.
