In his third start in the United States, Flavius won his first stakes race, taking the Tourist Mile Stakes at Kentucky Downs on Sep. 7, 2020. Javier Castellano kept him in mid-pack early on, then moved up to the lead and took charge at the eighth pole. He held on for a 3/4-length win, setting a new track record for a mile by covering the distance in 1:32.21. Flavius concluded his 2020 season with a fifth-place finish in the Grade 1 Shadwell Turf Mile Stakes at Keeneland on Oct. 10, and a second-place finish in the Grade 2 Seabiscuit Handicap at Del Mar on Nov. 28.

Flavius made his 2021 debut in the Grade 1 Frank E. Kilroe Mile on Mar. 6. After rating off the pace early on, he rallied to finish fourth. He then finished second in the Seek Again Stakes at Belmont Park on May 22.
After a few months off, Flavius returned to the races with an impressive gate-to-wire win in the Fasig-Tipton Lure Stakes at Saratoga on Aug. 7. He went gate-to-wire under strong handling from Flavien Prat, covering 1 1/16 miles in 1:41.53.
