Bio
Dr. Kapur won his maiden in his second lifetime start as a 2-year-old in a seven-furlong race at Keeneland on Oct. 16, 2025. He attempted to join the road to the 2026 Kentucky Derby when stretched out for a pair of stakes races in late 2025/early 2026 but faded to finish off the board in a pair of two-turn races.

Switching gears back to sprinting worked out much better for Dr. Kapur later in his 3-year-old season. He got back on the right track with a six-furlong allowance win at Saratoga on Aug. 29, 2026, and then went to Parx for his following start in the Grade 2 Gallant Bob Stakes at six furlongs and gave a solid effort for second by 1 1/4 lengths in a nine-horse field.
Dr. Kapur scored the biggest win of his career to date when victorious in the Grade 3 $350,000 Perryville Stakes going seven furlongs at Keeneland on Oct. 17, 2026. He closed from near the rear of a 10-horse field and mowed down his rivals in the stretch run to prevail by a neck in a tight three-horse finish.
