Bleecker Street

Bleecker Street made her career debut a winning one at Monmouth Park on Aug. 21, 2021. As the lone first-time starter in the field, she rallied to win a 1 1/16-mile maiden special weight race on turf by a half-length. 

Off that performance, Bleecker Street was the 2.80-1 second choice next out in a first-level allowance race at the Meadowlands on Oct. 23. She once again closed powerfully late and won by 1 1/2 lengths, going a mile in a sharp 1:35.91.

Bleecker Street made her 4-year-old debut a winning one at Tampa Bay Downs on Jan. 8, 2022, when she won a second-level allowance optional claiming race by a half-length. She improved to 4-for-4 next out when she won the Grade 3 Endeavour Stakes on Feb. 5, chasing down favored Lady Speightspeare late to win going away. That win marked the first graded stakes victory in the career of her regular jockey, Hector Diaz Jr. 

Bleecker Street was entered next in the Grade 3 Hillsborough Stakes at Tampa Bay on Mar. 12, but there was some doubt as to if she would race due to expected off conditions. Trainer Chad Brown decided to race her anyway, and the move paid off. She rallied wide in the stretch and kicked away to win by 3 3/4 lengths. The Quality Road filly then shipped to Churchill Downs and picked up a new jockey in Flavien Prat, and improved to 6-for-6 by closing from off the pace to reel in stablemate Fluffy Socks in deep stretch of the Grade 3 Modesty Stakes Presented by TwinSpires on the May 6 Longines Kentucky Oaks undercard.

In her next start, Bleecker Street stepped up to contest a Grade 1 stakes in the June 10 New York Stakes at Belmont Park. She also stretched out to 1 ¼ miles and ran against a field of six opponents that included three stablemates, topped by odds-on favorite and European Group 1 winner Rougir. The filly sat in last under Irad Ortiz Jr. all the way through the far turn before unleashing a five-wide rally into a slow pace. With ground-devouring strides, Bleecker Street got up to edge Family Way near the finish and earned her seventh consecutive victory in impressive fashion.

In the Grade 1 Diana Stakes July 16, 2022, at Saratoga Race Course, Bleecker Street tasted defeat for the first time when she finished third behind stablemates In Italian and Technical Analysis.

Peter Brant purchased Bleecker Street for $400,000 at the Fasig-Tipton August select yearling sale in 2019. She is out of the winning and stakes-placed Exchange Rate mare Lemon Liqueur and is from the family of turf Grade 1 winner Gabriel Charles.
