Affirmative Lady made three starts as a juvenile filly in 2022 and was still a maiden when she finished second by a neck in the Grade 2 Demoiselle Stakes at Aqueduct in her third career start on Dec. 4.
Affirmative Lady was a maiden when she made her 3-year-old debut in the $100,000 Busanda Stakes at Aqueduct on Jan. 14, 2023, and finished a distant third in a five-horse field. She returned to maiden competition in her next start and finally scored the maiden win on Feb. 26 at Gulfstream Park when she won off by 2 1/4 lengths in a 1 1/16-mile dirt race.

With the maiden win out of the way, Affirmative Lady returned against stakes competition in her following start in the Grade 2 $250,000 Gulfstream Park Oaks. Sent off as the 8-1 fifth choice in the tote board in a field of eight 3-year-old fillies, Affirmative Lady stalked the pace in mid-pack and comfortably moved to challenge in the stretch and drew off to a two-length win in a time of 1:44.69 for the 1 1/16 miles on a fast track.
Affirmative Lady is trained by Graham Motion. She was bred in Kentucky by the sire Arrogate out of the mare Stiffed by Stephen Got Even.
