Breeders’ Cup Fantastic Finishes: 2016 Distaff

Four-time champion Beholder relished the bright lights of the World Championships, winning Breeders’ Cup races at ages 2, 3, and 6 with none more memorable than her career finale on Nov. 4, 2016, at Santa Anita Park. Songbird entered the 2016 Distaff unbeaten in 11 career starts and she and Beholder hooked up at the top of the stretch for one of the most incredible stretch duels in Breeders’ Cup history. Beholder won by the slimmest of noses in a race that Songbird fans, to this day, swear she won.
