#TheAction: Jockey and Trainer Changes

09.26.2017

Does the jockey really make a difference? Yes! Does the trainer matter much? Double Yes! A good jockey can move a horse up by riding a smarter race, being a good judge of pace, keeping the horse away from trip trouble, and getting the most out of the horse in the stretch. A good trainer will identify the best races for their horses, have them cranked up to peak on race day, and know when to make a change in equipment, surface or distance for their horse. Take note of positive jockey changes and horses switching to barns of better trainers. With STATS Race Lens, you can pretty easily track down and manage those angles for both jockeys and trainers.

Many helpful statistics for Trainers and Jockeys are displayed in the PPs in the horse header. A green plus sign will appear to the right of the jockey's name if there is a highly favorable jockey switch from the last race to today's race. The Research - For Today's Horse section below the workouts, also has key Trainer and Jockey statistics listed pertaining to today's race.
