Josie Carroll is a Candian trainer who in 2006 became the first female trainer to win Canada's most prestigious race, the Queen's Plate, with Edenwold. She added a second win in the first jewel of the Canadian Triple Crown with the filly Inglorious in 2011.
In 2020, Carroll won the Queen's Plate with Mighty Heart, who added a victory in the Prince of Wales Stakes 17 days later at Fort Erie.
She started her career under Canadian Hall of Fame trainer Mac Benson at the storied Windfields Farm. In 1994, she began training on her own.
