Horse racing’s equivalent of the Academy Awards takes place Thursday, Jan. 22 with the 55th annual Eclipse Awards, held at The Breakers Resort in Palm Beach, Fla. The Eclipse Awards recognize the best of the best in North American Thoroughbred racing and are voted by the National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA), staff at Daily Racing Form, and members of the National Turf Writers and Broadcasters (NTWAB).

The second weekend of racing in 2026 was relatively quiet across North America, yet still produced a handful of notable performances, as four graded stakes and a Longines Kentucky Oaks prep at Santa Anita Park took center stage.
