On a yielding turf last Saturday course at Saratoga Race Course in upstate New York, turf females dueling in the Grade 1 Dunkin’ Diana Stakes delivered a thrilling finish. She Feels Pretty went off as the heavy post-time favorite for trainer Cherie DeVaux, but it was Excellent Truth who stole the spotlight.

Excellent Truth prevailed late in the stretch under Flavien Prat to edge She Feels Pretty by a head, giving trainer Chad Brown his ninth win in the last 10 runnings of the Diana. The victory marked Excellent Truth’s first in North America and vaulted her to 44th in the overall earnings standings for horses racing in North America during 2025 as tabulated by Equibase. The 5-year-old mare also rose to fifth in the older female division with $471,250 in 2025 earnings.

Another top turf horse, Far Bridge, delivered a commanding performance in Saturday’s Grade 2 Bowling Green Stakes at Saratoga, winning by three lengths under Hall of Fame jockey Joel Rosario. The victory propelled him eight spots up the overall Equibase standings to 35th  and into 12th place in the older male division with $570,280 in 2025 earnings. The win also marked the second career graded stakes victory for trainer Miguel Clement, who operates the stable of his late father, the renowned Christophe Clement.

Flavien Prat maintained his position atop the jockey standings after leading all North American riders in earnings last week. Prat notched six wins from 25 starts, totaling $657,695 for the week and bringing his 2025 earnings to $17,967,140. Irad Ortiz Jr. remains second overall and posted the second-highest weekly earnings with $644,450, winning at an impressive 35% rate. His brother, Jose Ortiz, holds steady in third after recording the third-best total of the week with $577,150.

Brad Cox and Steve Asmussen remain first and second, respectively, in the trainer standings with Cox nearly $2 million ahead of Asmussen; however Mark Casse was the highest earning trainer for the second consecutive week. Casse, ranked third overall for 2025, finished the week with nine wins and $628,883 in earnings.
