America’s Best Racing has put together a slideshow of the 3-year-olds expected to compete in the Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve on Sept. 5 at Churchill Downs.

For most of the contenders targeting the first jewel of the Triple Crown, we were able to find a nice mix of photos to show fans their competitive side as well as a little bit about their personality. The contenders appear in order by points accumulated within the Road to the Kentucky scoring system that determines the 20-horse field for the 1 1/4-mile classic.
