all in Horse Country

Amplify Horse Racing, an initiative to welcome and educate newcomers about the Thoroughbred industry, collaborate with existing initiatives, and promote opportunities for involvement, launched its website.

Amplify is a grassroots organization that was started in 2019 by second-year Godolphin Flying Start trainee Annise Montplaisir, and Madison Scott of Solis/Litt Bloodstock.

To believe in a person allows them to believe in themselves, and to believe in a horse holds that very same power. You see, the compassionate treatment of human beings and horses are closely paralleled. I see the potential in a being that most would consider unworthy of their effort. In horses and in people, it is the size of their heart that determines how far they will go, regardless of their physical or mental “shortcomings.”

I’m Kaitlyn, a Maryland native who packed up four years ago and moved to Lexington, Ky. I have always been a horse lover and grew up riding since the age of six. In 2002 I fell in love with horse racing thanks to the beautiful War Emblem. I remember my 13-year-old self crying when he fell leaving the starting gate at Belmont Park, and I cried again this week when he passed away.

Lane’s End has been one of the most successful Thoroughbred operations for over 40 years. The farm in Woodford County, Ky.

Alice Chandler has a life motto that has served her quite well.

“Take care of the horse, and it will take care of you.”

Those words surely describe Chandler’s life, especially in the years since 1962 when she founded Mill Ridge Farm and built it into one of Kentucky’s leading breeding farms.
