First carded in 1938, the Los Angeles Stakes is currently run at Santa Anita for horses three and up going six furlongs (three-quarters mile) on the dirt. Street Boss holds the record of the fastest time over the current distance, stopping the clock at 1:07.55 in 2008 and Native Dancer has the most wins of any horse in the race with two (1965, 1967). Jockey Laffit Pincay, Jr and John Sadler hold the record of most wins by a jockey and trainer, respectively with four owners tying at two victories apiece. Winners of the race since 1976 include champions J.O. Tobin and Kona Gold.
