Chester Broman Sr. and his wife Mary operate Chestertown Farm and have been racing and breeding racehorses since the 1990s. Chester is owner, president and CEO of general contractor Clifford Broman and Son in New York and he has served on the board of the New York Racing Association, New York Breeders Sales Company and New York Thoroughbred Breeders as well as Long Island Contractors Association.

In 2017, the Bromans scored their first Breeders’ Cup win as owners in their fifth attempt. That occurred when John Kimmel-trained Bar of Gold posted a 66.70-1 upset in the Filly and Mare Sprint at Del Mar.
