West Point Thoroughbreds was named by founder Terry Finley as a tribute to his alma mater. He earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering at West Point in 1986 - earning a GPA that, he jokes, "was closer to the bottom of the class than the top." The syndicate is one of the largest in North American racing and has success in both Triple Crown races and at the Breeders’ Cup as part-owner of horses such as 2022 Horse of the Year Flightline, 2017 Kentucky Derby winner Always Dreaming, and Grade 1-winning sprinter Vahva.
