That led to a start versus stakes company in her next race in the $100,000 Grade 3 Royal Heroine Stakes at one mile on the turf at Santa Anita on April 26. Sent off as the 8-1 fourth choice in the betting in an 11-horse field in the Royal Heroine, Public Assembly stalked the pace is mid-pack, made her move up to challenge in mid-stretch, and drew clear in the late stages to a 1 3/4-length win under jockey Antonio Fresu.
