Patch Adams won his maiden race as a 2-year-old in his second lifetime outing on Nov. 30, 2024, at Churchill Downs. His next start came in his 3-year-old debut on Jan. 25, 2025, in the Grade 3 $1 million Southwest Stakes at Oaklawn Park, where he finished fourth in a nine-horse field. Patch Adams added another fourth-place finish in his next start then came in the Grade 3 $400,000 Lambholm South Tampa Bay Derby on March 8.

Patch Adams was next entered in an expensive allowance optional claiming race to get his mojo back and he did just that when he scored a 2 1/4-length victory going 6 1/2 furlongs at Churchill Downs on May 3. From there, Patch Adams was back up against stakes company in his next race and scored his career-best victory in the Grade 1 $500,000 Woody Stephens Stakes presented by Mohegan Sun going seven furlongs at Saratoga on June 7. Patch Adams stalked the pace up close for most of the race, challenged in the stretch, and drew clear to win by 2 1/4 lengths atop a 10-horse field in a time of 1:21.36.
Patch Adams is trained by Brad Cox. He was bred in Kentucky by the sire Into Mischief out of the mare Well Humored by Distorted Humor.
