Thought Process

Thought Process finished third of six in her 2-year-old career debut race when sprinting on dirt July 27, 2024, at Del Mar, but she improved by leaps and bounds when switched to turf, rolling to a 3 ½-length victory in a one-mile event at Del Mar in mid-August. Thought Process then stepped up to face stakes horses and turned in another stellar effort, winning the one-mile Juvenile Fillies Turf Stakes by two lengths at Del Mar on Sept. 7.

In her next start, the Grade 3 Surfer Girl Stakes Oct. 6 at Santa Anita Park, Thought Process extended her winning streak to 3-for-3 and remained unbeaten on turf, taking the one-mile event by a comfortable 4 ½ lengths as the 1-5 favorite. She subsequently concluded her 2-year-old campaign with a ninth-place finish in the John Deere Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Juvenile Turf on Nov. 1 at Del Mar.

Following a seven-month layoff, Thought Process made her 3-year-old comeback to the racetrack with an allowance win at Santa Anita on Jun 14, 2025. She next faced stakes competition in the Grade 2 $200,000 San Clemente Handicap at Del Mar on July 19 and won again, topping the nine-horse field by a 1 3/4-length winning margin as the 2-5 favorite.

Thought Process is owned by Madaket Stables, Little Red Feather Racing, and the Estate of Brereton C. Jones. She was bred by the late Brereton Jones in Kentucky and is by the stakes-winning Creative Cause mare Creative Thinking.
