After running third in his career debut in February 2024 at Turfway Park, Yellow Card earned his first career win five weeks later at the Kentucky track with a front-running 3 ¾-length victory in a three-quarter-mile sprint on the all-weather Tapeta Footings surface.
Yellow Card was unplaced in one try on dirt before making the switch to turf and steadily establishing himself as an elite turf sprinter. He dominated in his first try on grass in June 2024 at Churchill Downs and two starts later ran second in the Grade 1 Aristocrat Franklin-Simpson Stakes at Kentucky Downs.

Yellow Card raced exclusively in Southern Califonia with trainer Michael McCarthy in 2025, winning an allowance race and finishing second in the Grade 2 Eddie D. Stakes in September at Santa Anita Park.
Yellow Card opened his 5-year-old season with a 1 ½-length win in the Clocker’s Corner Stakes at Santa Anita Park before shipping to Kentucky. The Lost Treasure horse finished second in the Grade 2 Valvoline Global Shakertown Stakes April 4 at Keeneland before gutting out a thrilling win by a neck in the Grade 2 Twin Spires Turf Sprint Stakes presented by Accenture on the May 2 Kentucky Derby undercard at Churchill Downs.
