Erin Knehr and Mary Termer

West Point Thoroughbreds will be represented by not one, but two graded stakes winners at the 2024 Thoroughbred Makeover – Cavalry Charge and Decorated Invader – and their respective Thoroughbred Makeover trainers, Erin Knehr and Mary Termer, will be telling the stories of these two winners in a joint blog entry each month.

Erin Knehr grew up riding and showing horses in Virginia including off-track Thoroughbreds.  She moved to Kentucky in 2002 and currently lives on a small farm in Midway with her children and husband.  Together they love spending time working with their horses.

Mary Termer has worked in veterinary medicine for over 20 years specializing in emergency and critical care. An amateur dressage rider and USDF bronze medalist, Mary hopes to ride her second OTTB in this year’s Retired Racehorse Project Thoroughbred Makeover.
