Lagynos won his maiden at first asking as a 2-year-old first starter on Sept. 10, 2023, at Kentucky Downs. He added an allowance win at Churchill Downs on Nov. 25 to conclude his 2-year-old season.
Lagynos raced in stakes competition on the grass all throughout his 3-year-old season in 2024 and broke through with a win on Nov. 23 with a victory in the Grade 3 $300,000 Commonwealth Turf Stakes going 1 1/18 miles at Churchill Downs. Lagynos closed from mid-pack in the Commonwealth to top a field of eight by three-quarters of a length.
