Woodcourt won his maiden in his second career start as a 2-year-old in a 5 ½-furlong sprint at Ellis Park on June 17, 2023, and later proceeded to add two more wins during his juvenile season including a turf route allowance race at Churchill Downs on Sept. 30 and an allowance optional claiming win going one mile at Turfway Park on Dec. 22, when Woodcourt got claimed for a $50,000 tag. Woodcourt finished his 2-year-old season with wins on three racing surfaces - dirt, synthetic, and turf.

Woodcourt began his 3-year-old season with a win in his first outing of the year in a one-mile allowance optional claiming race at Oaklawn Park on Jan. 28, 2024. The effort was good enough to send him up against stakes company for his next start, which came in the Grade 2 $1.25 million Rebel Stakes on Feb. 24 at Oaklawn Park, where he ran an admirable effort to finish fourth at 44-1 odds from post 12 in a 12-horse field. With that finish, he earned 10 qualifying points on the road to the Kentucky Derby.
Woodcourt was bred in Kentucky by the sire Ransom the Moon out of the mare Warrioress by Warrior's Reward.
