Maryquitecontrary won her career debut June 11, 2022, at Gulfstream Park by three-quarters of a length in a 6 ½-furlong sprint. She followed with a runner-up finish in the Azalea Stakes in July at Gulfstream Park.
The bay filly by First Dude got right back on the winning track in her third start in August 2022 and would closed out her 3-year-old season with a four-race winning streak that included a neck victory in the Sheer Drama Stakes in September and the Rampart Stakes by 3 ½ lengths in December.

She extended her winning streak into her 4-year-old season with a dominant victory from well off the pace under Luca Panici to improve to six wins from her first seven starts.
Maryquitecontrary's five-race winning streak came to an end April 8 at Keeneland, where she finished a fast-closing second to reigning champion female sprinter Goodnight Olive in the Grade 1 Madison Stakes.
