Durante

Durante broke his maiden in his third career start. Sent off as the 1-2 choice in a 6 1/2-furlong maiden special weight at Del Mar on Nov. 14, 2021, he set the early pace and held on to win by a half-length.

In his next start, Durante made his stakes debut in the Grade 1 Los Alamitos Futurity on Dec. 11. He finished fourth, beaten 11 3/4 lengths by stablemate Slow Down Andy, and earned one point on the road to the Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve for his effort.

Durante did not proceed on the Road to the Kentucky Derby and instead competed mainly in allowance and starter allowance races during 2022 and early 2023, moving from California to the East Coast in the summer of ’23.

In October, Durante made his first appearance in a graded stakes since the 2021 Los Alamitos Futurity a successful one, taking the Grade 3 Bold Ruler Stakes at Belmont at the Big A by 2 ¾ lengths. That was his fourth win in five starts since moving to trainer David Jacobson’s barn.

Durante enjoyed a career resurgence as a 6-year-old in 2025. He started his campaign on Feb. 14 with an allowance optional claiming victory going six furlongs at Oaklawn Park. Durante once again became a graded stakes winner when victorious in the Grade 3 $275,000 Aristides Stakes going six furlongs at Churchill Downs on May 31 when he topped a field of six by a length as a 33-1 longshot.

Durante sold for $120,000 at the Ocala Breeders' Sale in March 2021. He's a son of Distorted Humor, out of the unraced Pioneerof the Nile mare Seahawk Girl.
