The upcoming weekend in Thoroughbred racing expands to an international scale with a multimillion-dollar racecard scheduled to be held Saturday, Feb. 14, in Saudi Arabia. Two Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve qualifying races are also on the calendar in the U.S., and several tracks will be running on the President’s Day holiday, Monday, Feb. 16.

After a week-plus of significant winter weather and Arctic temperatures across most of the eastern half of the U.S. led to several racetracks closing and postponing stakes, the upcoming week promises to be a return to normalcy for most venues, and with a boost in major races on the calendar.

The schedule for the upcoming weekend in horse racing across North America is in flux as several racetracks cancel cards and postpone stakes races due to the effects of a winter storm that blanketed nearly the entire eastern half of the United States.

The 55th Resolute Racing Annual Eclipse Awards will air live on Jan. 22 from The Breakers Palm Beach in Florida, with the Spendthrift red-carpet show beginning at 6 p.m. ET and the ceremony following at 7 p.m. ET. This week marks one of the annual highlights of the North American racing calendar, with the focus squarely on South Florida. The 55th annual Resolute Racing Eclipse Awards ceremony will be held Thursday, Jan. 22, at the Breakers Palm Beach, celebrating the best Thoroughbred racing had to offer in 2025.
