After a year in which the COVID-19 pandemic forced the postponement of the run for the roses and eliminated fans from attending the classic race, the 2021 Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve returned to its traditional spot on the racing calendar on the first Saturday in May at Churchill Downs with a limited number of fans permitted on track.
