We’ve reached the unique point on the North American horse racing calendar where for one day no Thoroughbred tracks are operating – this Thursday, as the racing community along with everyone else celebrates the Christmas holiday. Several major tracks are right back at it on Friday, Dec. 26, but this year the traditional day-after-Christmas highlight, opening day at Santa Anita Park, will be postponed two days due to a forecast of heavy rain in southern California this week.

Opening day of Santa Anita’s Classic meet is now set for Sunday, Dec. 28, with six stakes races scheduled, and the track’s Dec. 27 Saturday card has been moved to Monday, Dec. 29. All of the action at “The Great Race Place” will be broadcast live on FanDuel TV. That network will also show live racing from tracks such as Gulfstream Park, Turfway Park, and Laurel Park over the three-day post-Christmas weekend.

NYRA’s “America’s Day at the Races” will showcase live racing from Aqueduct and Oaklawn Park in three programs over the weekend. “America’s Day at the Races” airs on FOX Sports – check the below schedule for channels and times.

Horse racing from tracks around the world is available to subscribers on Racetrack Television Network (RTN), which can be livestreamed on all devices (computer, tablet and smartphone) and on TV via DISH Network, Amazon Fire and Roku
