Saturday, March 4 is arguably the biggest weekend so far this year on the road to the Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve. Four prep races offering qualifying points will be held at tracks around the country, and there are several other notable races on the schedule as well.

Three of the four preps offer points for Derby 149 distributed on a 50-20-15-10-5 basis to the top five finishers in the race: the Fountain of Youth Stakes at Gulfstream Park; the Gotham Stakes at Aqueduct; and the San Felipe Stakes at Santa Anita Park. The remaining prep, the John Battaglia Stakes at Turfway Park, offers points on a 20-8-6-4-2 distribution pattern to the top five.

The Fountain of Youth and San Felipe will be broadcast live on CNBC as part of a two-hour show from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. ET on March 4. The NBC Sports crew (host Ahmad Fareed, analysts Randy Moss and Jerry Bailey, and reporters Nick Luck and Britney Eurton) will be on hand to cover all of the action as part of the network’s “Road to the Kentucky Derby” series. The show will also be available streaming on Peacock.

FanDuel TV will also show the above two races live as well as the Gotham Stakes and John Battaglia Stakes on Saturday as part of its comprehensive schedule. An important race for older dirt horses, the Santa Anita Handicap Presented by Yaamava’ Resort & Casino (also known as the Big ‘Cap) will also be broadcast on FanDuel TV Saturday.

Racing from Aqueduct, Oaklawn Park, and Tampa Bay Downs will be showcased on NYRA’s “America’s Day at the Races” March 2, 3, and 5 this week. The show will air on FS2 and FS1 during the timeframe – check the below schedule for air times.

Horse racing from tracks around the world is available to subscribers on Racetrack Television Network (RTN), which can be livestreamed on all devices (computer, tablet and smartphone) and on TV via DISH Network, Amazon Fire and Roku.

Livestreaming content also ramps up this week, starting with two shows on Thursday, March 2. “La Trifecta” returns for a show at 9 p.m. ET on ABR’s Instagram channel. Presented en Español, the show is hosted by Darwin Vizcaya, Claudia Spadaro, and Annise Montplaisir. “La Trifecta” is sponsored by the Florida Thoroughbred Breeders and Owners Association and the Florida Department of Agriculture.

Also on Thursday, ABR presents a “Big ‘Cap Betting Preview” analyzing the Santa Anita Handicap, the San Felipe Stakes, and other stakes races from Santa Anita’s March 4 card and uncovering some moneymaking opportunities. Hosted by Dan Tordjman, Ren Carothers, Mike Somich, and Jeff Chapman, the “Big ‘Cap Betting Preview” begins at 8 p.m. ET and airs on ABR’s Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube channels as well as Santa Anita Park’s Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube channels.

And then on Saturday, March 4, ABR will host an “Expert Pick 6 Preview” show breaking down Santa Anita’s Pick 6 race sequence. The show will start at 5:45 p.m. ET/2:45 p.m. PT and will be hosted by Dan Tordjman, Ren Carothers, and Mike Somich. It will air on ABR’s Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube channels as well as Santa Anita Park’s Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube channels.
