Where to Watch/Listen During 2020 Breeders’ Cup Week

An unprecedented 2020 horse racing calendar altered by the COVID-19 pandemic winds down in more familiar fashion on Nov. 6-7 at Keeneland Race Course with the 37th Breeders’ Cup World Championships. The two-day event will be held with spectators limited to a few owners, breeders, and essential personnel, which will make the options for television, radio, and live streaming coverage even more important than usual for fans who want to watch and bet on the 14 races.

Fortunately, those options this year are more plentiful than ever. NBC Sports is, as usual, the go-to outlet for live broadcasts of all World Championships races. Friday’s five Breeders’ Cup races will be shown on NBCSN during a broadcast from 2 p.m.-6 p.m. ET. The first four of nine Breeders' Cup races on Saturday will be shown on NBCSN from noon-2:30 p.m. ET, and the final five will air on a national broadcast on NBC from 2:30 p.m.-6 p.m. ET, culminating with the Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic, which has a post time of 5:13 p.m. ET. For an entire race schedule with gambling options for each race, click here.

The Breeders’ Cup World Championships will also be broadcast live on TVG, and the network will as usual offer comprehensive coverage leading up to the event with its “Breakfast at the Breeders’ Cup” morning workout show. Presented by WinStar Farm and Keeneland, “Breakfast at the Breeders’ Cup” begins on Friday, Oct. 30 and will run through Thursday, Nov. 5, airing at 7 a.m. ET and then again at 10 a.m. ET daily. TVG also will broadcast the Rood & Riddle Post-Position Draw for all Breeders’ Cup races on Monday, Nov. 2 at 4:30 p.m. ET.

Racing from Aqueduct, Churchill Downs and other tracks will be shown live during Breeders’ Cup week on “America’s Day at the Races." The NYRA-produced show runs Wednesday through Sunday this week on FS2, covering Churchill Downs on Wednesday and Thursday and then addding Aqueduct to the calendar when that track opens on Friday. The shows will also air on MSG+ and on regional Fox outlets Prime Ticket and Fox Sports San Diego – check NYRA’s website for those dates and times.

TVG will also show live racing from Del Mar and other tracks all week as part of its usual coast-to-coast schedule.

In addition to being shown on TVG, “Breakfast at the Breeders’ Cup” will be streamed live on the Breeders’ Cup’s social media channels, and America’s Best Racing also has several live streaming shows leading up to the event on Nov. 6-7. These include three lunchtime shows on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday as well as a Betting After Darkshow on Wednesday evening, an evening preview show presented en Espanol on Thursday evening, and two morning preview shows on Friday and Saturday before the racing begins. Lastly, the popular La Trifecta racing show presented en Espanol will air Friday evening, Nov. 6, at 7 p.m. ET. ABR’s live streaming shows can be viewed on its Facebook Live, Twitter, and YouTube pages.

A don’t-miss highlight of this weekend’s radio coverage is "The Winner’s Circle," America’s Best Racing’s podcast presented by NYRA Bets. The show, hosted by Bram Weinstein, airs 10 a.m. ET Saturday, Nov. 7, on Sports Map Radio. Subscribe to "The Winner's Circle" on Apple Podcasts to listen to archived episodes.

The season finale episode of "The Winner's Circle" will focus on the 37th Breeders’ Cup World Championships. Guests are retired Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens; jockey Aaron Gryder, who is set to retire after the Del Mar meet; and horse racing analyst Aly Vance.
