Untreated made his second career start in a six-furlong maiden special weight race at Gulfstream Park on Jan. 9, 2021. He went off as the 0.80-1 favorite, but showed little and finished a well-beaten sixth.
For his next start, Untreated was shipped to Tampa Bay Downs for a maiden special weight race around two turns on Mar. 8. Once again, he was well-bet, going off as the 1.20-1 favorite. This time, he lived up to expectations, drawing away for an impressive 8 1/2-length victory.

Untreated was purchased for $550,000 at the 2019 Keeneland September Yearling Sale. After his first start, he was sold for $300,000 at the 2021 Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale. His sire (father), Nyquist, won the 2015 Breeders' Cup Juvenile and the 2016 Kentucky Derby. His dam (mother), Fully Living, was stakes-placed four times.
