Tyson made his career debut a winning one in a 3-year-old maiden race at Gulfstream Park on March 4, 2022 in what would be the colt's only race of the 202 season.
Tyson returned from several months on the sidelines to launch his 4-year-old campaign with an allowance optional claiming victory at Woodbine on May 6, 2023. He followed that up with a third-place finish in the Grade 2 Eclipse Stakes at Woodbine on June 4.

Tyson earned his first career stakes win, which was the third win from four lifetime outings in the Grade 3 $150,000 Dominion Day Stakes on July 1 at Woodbine. Sent off as the 4-1 second choice on the tote board in a nine-horse field, Tyson came from off the pace near the rear of the field, passed horses at the top of the stretch and then delivered the knockout blow to draw off to a 1 1/2-length victory. He added a second straight graded stakes win four weeks later when he posted a front-running, three-length win in the $134,960 Seagram Cup Stakes, a Grade 2 race July 29 at Woodbine.
Tyson is trained by Josie Carroll. He was bred in Ontario by the sire Tapit out of the mare Honouring by Smart Strike.
