Treason

Treason won his career debut June 12, 2021, at Belmont Park in a one-mile turf race. The son of Constitution finished of the board in his next three starts at age 3 for trainer Bill Mott and was away from competition until September 2022, when, now gelded, he surfaced at Woodbine with trainer Josie Carroll. He made two starts that fall, winning an allowance optional claiming race by a dominant 16 ½ lengths and then finishing a solid fourth in his stakes bow, the Grade 2 Autumn Stakes, both on Woodbine’s synthetic main track.

After another extended break, Treason returned right back in graded stakes company on June 2, 2023, when he squared off against a tough field of 10 other horses in the Grade 2 Eclipse Stakes Presented by Don Julio at Woodbine. With Kazushi Kimura riding for the first time, the now 5-year-old showed little signs of rust, stalking the early pace and then taking over in the stretch to win the 1 1/16-mile Eclipse by 1 ½ lengths.

Treason is out of the stakes-winning Speightstown mare Cougarstown and is a half-brother to stakes winner Elevenses.
