Touchuponastar made his mark on a national level as a 6-year-old coming off a 12 1/4-length stakes win at Delta Downs on Feb. 1, 2025, he took-on the defending 3-year-old champion from the year before, Sierra Leone, and was successful for his first career Graded stakes win in the Grade 2 $500,000 New Orleans Classic going 1 1/8 miles at Fair Grounds on March 22. Touchuponastar grabbed the lead early in the New Orleans Classic atop a five-horse field and was never headed enroute to a 2 1/2-length victory while 4 1/2 lengths ahead of Sierra Leone back in third.
