Totally Boss needed four starts to earn his first win, taking a sprint at Churchill Downs in May 2018. He won a turf sprint at Indiana Grand in July and then finished fourth in the Quick Call Stakes at Saratoga Race Course in his stakes debut.
Totally Boss needed four starts to earn his first win, taking a sprint at Churchill Downs in May 2018. He won a turf sprint at Indiana Grand in July and then finished fourth in the Quick Call Stakes at Saratoga Race Course in his stakes debut.
As a 4-year-old in 2019, Totally Boss really started to show his best when focusing on turf sprints. He won allowances races in April and May at Keeneland and Churchill Downs, respectively, before earning his first stakes win in the Kentucky Downs Preview Turf Sprint Stakes when he rallied from next to last to win by a half-length in August at Ellis Park.
Totally Boss made his graded stakes debut in the Runhappy Turf Sprint Stakes at Kentucky Downs in September 2019 and tracked closer to the pace before pulling away in the stretch to win by 1 ¼ lengths. The victory earned Totally Boss a guaranteed starting spot in the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint.
