Sy Dog, a 3-year-old Slumber colt owned by Head of Plains Partners, won his career debut by an impressive four lengths going seven furlongs on turf at Belmont Park on Oct. 24, 2021. He was elevated to stakes company for his next start in the Nov. 27 Central Park Stakes on turf at Aqueduct, and rallied wide in the stretch to close fast and win by a nose.

Trainer Graham Motion gave Sy Dog a break of over four months after that victory, and Sy Dog returned for his 3-year-old bow in the Grade 3 Kentucky Utilities Transylvania Stakes on April 8 at Keeneland. With Irad Ortiz Jr. riding, he once again rallied from off the pace to win by three quarters of a length and extend his unbeaten streak to three.
Sy Dog is out of the winning Scat Daddy mare My Love Venezuela and is from the family of graded/group stakes winners Stylish Star and Fore Left.
