Summer Starlet

Summer Starlet began her career as a 2-year-old and won her first lifetime start for her maiden win going 6 1/2 furlongs at Saratoga on Aug. 8. 2026.

The debut victory at first asking launched Summer Starlet up versus stakes company for her second start in Saratoga's Grade 1 $300,000 Spinaway Stakes going seven furlongs in the premier race of the summer Spa meet for 2-year-old fillies. Sent off as the 1.62-1 favorite in a seven-horse field in the Spinaway, Summer Starlet stalked the pace and made her move coming into the top of the stretch and took control enrotue to a strong 4 3/4-length victory in 1:22.3. The Spinaway was a Breeders' Cup Challenge Series "Win and You're In" qualifying race, and with her win she earned a fees-paid berth into the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies.

Summer Starlet is trained by Steve Asmussen. She was bred in Kentucky by the sire City of Light out of the mare Act Now by Street Sense.
