Strike Hard was an impressive maiden winner at Gulfstream Park on Aug. 29, 2021. Making his second career start, he won by 2 1/4 lengths as the 2-5 favorite.
On New Year's Day 2022, Strike Hard made his 3-year-old debut in the Mucho Macho Man Stakes at Gulfstream Park. He rated near the pace and finished second. Next out, he competed in a graded stakes for the first time in the Grade 3 Sam F. Davis Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs on Feb. 12, and finished fourth. For that effort, he earned one qualifying point on the Road to the Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve.
