Strategic Risk won his career debut early in his 2-year-old season at Gulfstream Park on June 7, 2025. He was immediately pointed versus stakes company and sent to Saratoga for the summer meet where he was unplaced in two Grade 3 Stakes races. Upon his return to Florida, he finished third in the Florida Sire Affirmed Stakes on Oct. 18.
Strategic Risk began to show strong improvement in the final start of his 2-year-old campaign when he won the $300,000 Florida Sire In Reality Stakes going 1 1/16 miles at Gulfstream Park on Nov. 29 by nine lengths atop a 10-horse field.

Continued development for Strategic Risk was on full display in his 3-year-old debut on Jan. 3, 2026, when he was impressive once again in a 4 1/2-length romp in the $250,000 Smarty Jones Stakes going 1 1/16 miles at Oaklawn Park. Strategic Risk pressed the pace throughout and kicked clear with ease in the stretch to top the eight-horse field with jockey Javier Castellano accompanying him from Florida.
Strategic Risk is trained by Mark Casse for owner John Oxley. He was bred in Florida by the sire Noble Bird out of the dam Strategize by Afleet Alex.
