Stay Hot, a Summer Front ridgling based in California, won his third career start by a widening 2 ½-length margin in a one-mile turf race at Santa Anita Park on Oct. 7 and was immediately elevated to stakes company in his next start, the Prevagen Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf on Nov. 3 at Santa Anita.

He ran a disappointing 10^th of 11 in that race but rebounded nicely in his fifth career race, taking the one-mile, Grade 3 Cecil B. DeMille Stakes Dec. 3 at Del Mar by a neck after making a sustained charge through the stretch.

The ridgling kicked off his 3-year-old season in 2024 with back-to-back listed stakes wins at Santa Anita Park, taking both the 6 ½-furlong Baffle Stakes and the one-mile Pasadena Stakes by a head. After an unsuccessful trip to Churchill Downs when last of 14 in the American Turf Stakes Presented by TwinSpires in May, Stay Hot rebounded to secure his second graded stakes victory with a game 1 ½-length score in the La Jolla Handicap Aug. 4 at Del Mar.

Stay Hot is out of the Smart Strike mare Etsu and is a half-brother to multiple stakes winner Homeland Security. Champion filly Farda Amiga is another notable family member.
