Smooth B

Smooth B had two of the biggest moments in his career in back-to-back runnings of the Turf Monster Stakes at Parx. First in 2023, Smooth B ran second as a 24-1 longshot in the Grade 3 Turf Monster Stakes going five furlongs over a yielding turf course in a 10-horse field.  In 2024, the $250,000 Turf Monster Stakes was moved off the turf to be run at five-furlongs on the main track. Smooth B, at that time an 11-time career winner on the dirt versus no career wins on the turf, benefitted from the race being moved off the turf and was able to secure the victory in a runaway by 4 1/2 lengths atop a five-horse field.

Smooth B is trained by Butch Reid. He was bred in Pennsylvania by the sire Weigelia out of the mare Katarica Disco by Disco Rico.
