Sixtythreecaliber

Sixtythreecaliber won her maiden race in ger second career start as a 3-year-old at Horseshoe Indianapolis on April 27, 2022. She followed up the maiden win with an allowance victory in her very next start, which was also at Horseshoe Indiana, on June 11.  On the strength of those two victories, trainer Tom Amoss was encouraged to enter her versus stakes competition in her next start in the Grade 3 Indiana Oaks on July 9, where she settled for a fourth-place finish.

Sixtythreecaliber rebounded quickly from her loss in the Indiana Oaks right back at Horseshoe Indiana, where she returned to the winner's circle with an allowance optional claiming score on Aug. 9. With no big targets left to pursue at Horseshoe, Amoss sent Sixtythreecaliber to Churchill Downs for her next start on Sept. 24 for the Seneca overnight stakes. Sixtythreecaliber took care of business to win the Seneca for what was her fourth win in her first six career outings.

Sixtythreecaliber subsequently was sent to Aqueduct for her next race for another shot at a graded stakes win in the Grade 3 $175,000 Comely Stakes for 3-year-old fillies. In the Comely pressed the pace all the way, surge to the lead in the stretch, and then fought hard to hold off the late bid of even-money favorite Kathleen O. to win by a half a length. Sixtythreecaliber completed the 1 1/8 miles in a winning time of 1:53.89.

Sixtythreecaliber was bred in Kentucky by the sire Gun Runner out of the mare Classofsixtythree by Include.
